Lori practices from a theoretical lens that incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as narrative therapy to choose the best approach to match client needs.
About my practice
Therapeutic Lens
I practice from a person-centered lens, choosing therapeutic approaches based on the goals and preferences of each client. My approach includes elements from acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and others to inform the therapeutic process
I primarily work one on one with teens and adults to achieve their goals and live life authentically. I do work with pre-teens on a case by case basis.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Counselling
I believe that neurodivergent individuals, such as those with autism and ADHD, have different neurotypes (brains) that can impact how they interpret the world.
My aim is to support individuals in achieving their goals, and modify my therapeutic approach to align with their strengths rather than using therapy as a method to change the individual to fit into a world that was not designed for them.
Trauma Informed
I provide EMDR to help clients process trauma from the past and present.

EMDR stands for Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Although the name sounds strange, it really is just a framework for which traumatic events can be processed with the help of eye movements or tapping on your body to process thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations connected to a traumatic event.
