Sanne Jilderda

Sanne Jilderda is a practicum student currently completing her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Sanne has been working with autistic individuals from infancy to adolescence into adulthood and their families as a research coordinator since 2009 in the Toronto area. She has spent the last ten years in the Autism Research Centre at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital as a research coordinator, psychometrist and coach supporting caregivers of toddlers with social communication concerns. This work has strengthened her passion for supporting autistic individuals at all stages, as well as caregivers’ mental health and well-being.

 

Sanne values creating a non-judgemental, genuine, and empathetic space where clients can feel safe and respected. Sanne believes collaboration and curiosity in her counselling approach are vital to foster understanding of each clients’ unique perspectives and experiences as they work to navigate challenges and make
meaningful progress.

 

Sanne is eager to work with adolescents, individual adults and families navigating major life transitions, stress, feelings of anxiety, burnout, and self-esteem issues. Her approach is grounded in person-centred principles, integrating other evidence-based approaches through collaboration with clients.

Outside of work, Sanne stays busy as a mother to two young children, enjoys walks with her dogs in the river valley, and cycling, which she has been so excited to share with her eldest who just learned to ride a bike this summer!

 

As a student counsellor, Sanne offers low cost ($50) counselling sessions and works under the supervision of Dr. Stolte.
