Neurodiversity-Affirming
Autism Assessments

"Autism is here to stay and may be considered a part of the diversity of the human gene pool."
- Dr. Stephen Shore

Being autistic means experiencing, processing, and interacting with the world in a distinct way. Our neurodiversity-affirming assessments focus on understanding your authentic neurotype and honoring your unique communication styles, sensory needs, and strengths, while identifying practical supports for daily life.

What to Expect

  • We begin with an open conversation about your developmental, social, and personal history—focusing on past wins, current challenges, and tailoring an assessment plan that feels comfortable and collaborative.

  • We explore communication patterns, sensory processing, special interests, routines, and coping strategies. Because these conversations are thorough, sessions can be split into smaller, manageable blocks to prevent burnout or sensory overwhelm.

  • Through structured interactive activities and targeted questionnaires, we look at how you naturally engage, communicate, and navigate everyday environments—distinguishing autism from other overlapping mental health experiences that may be present.

  • To build a complete picture, we evaluate adaptive daily skills and, whenever possible, review past records or speak with someone who knew you growing up (or a partner, sibling, or close friend). Optional cognitive testing may also be included.

  • We translate findings into a comprehensive report designed to inform recommendations for accommodations and funding in academic, workplace, or community settings. We meet with you to walk through the results, answer questions, and provide both digital and print copies.
